Christopher Odetunde

Dr. Christopher Odetunde received a GCE London Advanced Level in Pure and Applied Mathematics.  He earned a BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona-Beach Florida, and an MS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University, where he specialized in Fluid Mechanics.  Dr. Odetunde received a Ph.D. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering from At Texas A&M University in the area of Computational fluid dynamics and atmospheric science.

After completing his Ph.D. at Texas A&M, he joined the University of Ife, in Ile-Ife Nigeria and rose to the position of Associate Professor in 1988.  While there at Ife, Dr. Odetunde taught Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Engineering, Mechanical Vibration, Computational fluid/aerodynamics and Heat Transfer in addition to serving as Chair of Mechanical Engineering with over 300 students within the program.

In 1988, Dr. Odetunde returned to the United States to work with Teledyne Brown Engineering and the Department of Strategic Defense in Huntsville, Alabama.  In 1996, he completed an M.S. degree in Project Engineering and Project Management from Southeastern Institute of Technology.

In addition to working with GeoTechnology Company in Midland Texas, he taught at Odessa College and was awarded Best Mathematics and Engineering Faculty of the Year.  Upon his wife’s completion of her residency, Dr. Odetunde and his family settled in Houston where he joined ABB Lummus Global as a Senior Project Engineer.

Before becoming part of Texas Southern University’s faculty, Dr. Odetunde was a Senior Project Engineering Manager at ABCON Global Energy Group, Inc.
